Finding the Silver Lining in Disappointment

This may not initially sound like silver lining material, but I am finding the praiseworthy pieces anyway!

As you know (if you are on my email list), I ran a launch of my Branding Is Personal course this last week ending on Monday.

Leading up to the launch I did daily Facebook Live videos to promote my Nail Your Niche 3 Day Challenge. We had an amazing challenge and I got great feedback from those who participated!

After the challenge, I kicked off a week of promotion for my Branding Is Personal course. If you missed it, you can get on the waitlist.

After a week of emails, more live videos and a lot of prayer, I did not have anyone who bought the course. Big ole donut hole on the course sales.

Not quite feeling like a victory, huh?

Yeah, it didn’t to me, either, until I prayed about it yesterday morning in the middle of my pity party.

Just gotta say, God is sooooo very good!

The Holy Spirit showed me that even though no one bought the course this time:
  • I showed up consistently and served my audience
  • I grew my email list
  • and, I planted seeds that took root, though it wasn’t their time to bloom, yet.
After a little shaking my fist and asking “What about my time, God?” I heard, “Stay steady. Keep serving. You have created fertile ground.”

Then my business coach posted a question in our group. She asked, “When did you first start following me and when did you first buy from me?”

I followed my coach for a YEAR!

I think I bought her small $17 tripwire product after getting her freebie.

Her question was posed to the whole group, but the question was for me.

Reading everyone’s responses (30 of us in the group), I saw that very few bought something immediately.

Some did her Pinterest challenge and then they bought her course. Some were referred by a friend and told, “You gotta get in her coaching program!” But most, followed for months before buying anything from her.

Lesson learned. Stay steady. Keep showing up.

So I will continue to cultivate this fertile ground, continue to show up for you, continue to serve.

Those seeds have GOT to break ground one day. And when they do, I will be here ready to nurture you, coach you, encourage you and teach you!

Thank you for following me. Thank you for being part of my community – my tribe.

Not every launch will be as successful as we hope. We don’t always get the results that we want, but we have to be able to find the silver lining in the disappointments.

Just because I didn’t get the results I had planned and hoped for also doesn’t mean that my launch was a total failure. AND it especially doesn’t mean that I am a failure.

This just wasn’t the right time. I will admit rushed things. I didn’t lay enough of a solid foundation on this one.

We learn something from every launch – even the ones that disappoint us.
